近日，随着机车汽笛一声鸣响，HXD21114机车牵引的55001次万吨重载试验列车从红砂坝煤炭专用线平稳驶出，标志着呼和浩特铁路局在专用线开行万吨列车的技术又向前迈进一步。
红砂坝站地处京包线，是呼和浩特铁路局管内的重要万吨车站，红砂坝铁路专用线内所有线路长度均超过1700米，具有较大煤炭装卸能力。该站距呼和浩特铁路局与太原铁路局两局交界处仅60公里，本次红砂坝煤炭专用线万吨重载列车牵引试验成功后，将对蒙西、山西、陕西三地的煤炭交流提供有利条件，为区域经济发展注入强劲动力。
